Music is a marker: Thoughts about music

For those who know me, it's not a secret, I am a lover of music. 

My passion for music knows no bounds! I have a deep appreciation for a wide variety of genres, including classics, contemporary hits, jazz, afrobeat, pop, religious music, and more. Allow me to share my thoughts on how I view and experience music.


Music, is a marker of memories, It is a language that transcends all fear.
Music, like love, are two things that know no boundaries. They are a harmonious blend!


From the rhythm of the heart to the soul, music speaks a language we all know. It's the beat of life, the pulse of love, a universal language, sent from above.


In every culture, a melody sings, a symphony of life, with heartfelt wings. Music and love are a duet, so fine, two things that know no borders, divine.


In the moments we share, we find our grace, with music and love, we embrace. The memories we make, we hold so dear, with music and love, our hearts are clear.

So let us cherish, this harmonious bond, between music and love, so strong and grand. For they are the markers of our hearts, a language that speaks to us, and sets us apart.

7 Years Later: Was my Volunteering work with VSO Worth?

When I resigned from my job at the National Council of Churches of  Kenya (NCCK) in 2005 to pursue international volunteering with the Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) in the Philippines, many of my friends thought I had made a terrible mistake.  I was a young professional with a promising career in peacebuilding and many doubted my decision to volunteer overseas in unpaid work.  I wanted to become a volunteer with VSO because I thought this would provide me with the ideal opportunity to work in international development where I would gain valuable   I at Tagbilaran port, Bohol, on a job assignment to Siliman University, Dumaguete  work experience that would increase my prospects for a getting better when I return back to Kenya. Lamenting a marital conflict

Through troubled waters, I sail my boat, Wild winds of the south, they fiercely float. Tears fill my eyes, as I struggle to cope, Ties that bind my family, slowly elope. The constant conflicts, the endless fights, Tired and weary, I face sleepless nights. Judged and misunderstood, I bear the weight, Demands, demands, they never abate.
