The Day I will Die

I hope it is not nigh, but the day I will die,  Please do not cry. Let me go with grace to a better place, Where the sun shines bright, and there’s no disgrace.   I don’t want to linger, or let you suffer in pain, But I leave this world with nothing to gain. My soul will fly, up to the sky, And there I will rest, no more to try.   Don’t mourn for me, just celebrate, The life I lived and the memories we created are cherished. I’ll watch from above, with a smile on my face, As you move forward, with love and grace.   So , cherish each moment you have, and hold them tight, For life is fleeting, and time is finite. When my time comes, I’ll be ready to depart, With no regrets, and a grateful heart.

There's Magic in a Woman's Breasts

Image
There is magic in a woman’s breasts, A source of nourishment and rest, It’s where a baby goes to feed, Growing strong with each little need. With just a glance or gentle touch, A woman’s breast can mean so much, It shows the world her love and care, A symbol of the bond they share. The curves and lines are simply art, A masterpiece that sets her apart, And when she chooses to reveal, Her beauty makes our senses reel. In ancient times, it was believed, That magic in her breast was weaved, A power that could safeguard life, And ease the pain of pain and strife. So let us honor women’s chests, The bits of magic they possess, For all the love and warmth they give, They’re a true wonder, let’s believe.

Love is a Disease of the Heart

Love is a disease of the heart, A feeling that tears us apart, It makes us fall for someone so hard, And leaves us broken, and deeply scarred. We try to resist, to shake it off, But it seems impossible, too tough, Love takes hold, it won’t let go, Our hearts beat, a restless flow. It’s like a fever that burns so bright, A bond that we cannot fight, We become slaves to its charm, And surrender to its loving harm. Love is a disease, so they say, It infects our souls in every way, Yet despite the pain and the tears, We still long for it through the years. And though it may bring us to our knees, We can’t deny its magic, its ease, For love, we’ll take the risk, the chance, And forever, in its grace, we’ll dance.

Conflicts in Marriage

Marriage has become desolate, These days! Where conflicts reign Causing  a deep afflict. The once-strong bond is no more It has drifted away, far away Hearts bleed and feel kicked out. Tears flow freely, and sadness engulfs.   The once laughs and long talks, Are now moments of sour talk Spent silence, that pepper with harsh glowers Lost love luster and its sweetest flowers.   I miss the days of playful teasing, The happy and care-freezing days, But now we're stuck in endless squeezing, A sad state of love we're living.   Longing for the day we can find a way back, To the love we once had in our pack. A love that's not a lack, And live a life that's not just a hack.

OUR LOVE LAY IN RUINS

Our love lay in ruins, a broken ship at sea, Where once we sailed together, in perfect harmony. Now the skies are darkened, and the waves they crash and roar, Tearing our love asunder, leaving only shards and more.   Our hearts once beat in unison, creating a perfect rhyme, But now they're out of sync, beating out of time. Anger and venom, a poison in our veins, Killing off our passion, leaving nothing but pain.   Our love, once a beacon, shining, bright and true, Lightening up our every step and guiding us anew. But now that light is dimming, fading into dark, Leaving nothing but rubble, and broken, shattered hearts.   Silent lips, and chattering fingertips, Our love is now a memory, a ship that once slipped, From the dock of hope and dreams, into the sea of despair, Our love lay in ruins, and we are left with empty air.

The Dark Side of Me

The dark side of me is hard to define It's the part of my soul that I keep confined The part that I'm afraid, of what it might see The part that's alone, when I cease to be It is a monster, that I can't control A ghost that haunts me, deep in my soul That causes me to lie, and sometimes stray away  It makes me angry, and it is hard to beat I try to keep it hidden, deep inside So no one else can see, the fear that I hide But sometimes it escapes and shows its face And I'm left alone, in that dark, dark place But I know that it's there, and I must face it The darkness within, before it takes its place So I'll keep it in check, and keep it at bay And hope that someday, it'll just fade away.

WHY I CHOSE TO BE A COUNSELOR

My undergraduate degree is in Counseling, precisely BA in Counseling.  It is a career I pursued years later after my high school days.   In my early life, it never occurred to me that one day I would be a counselor or practice counseling as a profession. This is because, unlike professions such as law, medicine, and engineering, counseling has been viewed as a profession for the “less serious” students, therefore, the likelihood of getting a “good” job and a successful life career was not visible.  In addition, the existing perception about counseling is that it is, for example, for those people who are seeking a divorce or are going through life problems, or are mentally sick and is used as   a last resort. These perceptions made counseling a less attractive career to pursue. However, as I started my career as a development worker, and later as peacebuilding for the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK), a faith-based organization...
